SCARLETT JOHANSSON has praised stars including BEYONCE and SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS for injecting the "cool factor" into BARACK OBAMA's re-election campaign with a new range of clothes championing the president.

Beyonce and Combs are just two of the top designers involved in the Runway To Win fashion project, which features limited edition clothing and accessories emblazoned with pro-Obama slogans.

Johansson helped launched the venture at a New York City party with Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour on Tuesday (07Feb12) and discussed the power of fashion in garnering support for Obama as he runs for a second term in office.

She says, "I think the most important thing is that the fashion world has an international spotlight shown on it. To be able to use that spotlight on a cause like this is incredible... Conscious consumerism (and) any way to reintroduce that kind of cool factor (to Obama's campaign) is very valuable... You have to voice your opinion."

Beyonce, Combs, Marc Jacobs, Russell Simmons, Vera Wang, and Diane von Furstenberg have all contributed designs for Obama's fundraising initiative.
