Actress JESSICA CHASTAIN's three-legged dog made his Broadway debut in THE HEIRESS on Saturday (02Feb13) after he accidentally wondered onstage to greet his owner.

The Zero Dark Thirty star's rescue pet, Chaplin, was watching Chastain from the wings during her matinee performance, when he decided to wander onstage during her second act monologue.

Theatregoers at first assumed the handicapped pooch was part of the show, but later learned otherwise when a nearby employee began trying to coax the confused canine offstage, according to BroadwayWorld.com.

The pooch eventually left the stage and the play continued without incident until the curtain call, when the actress came out with her pup in her arms to take a bow.
