Jason Derulo sends Jordin Sparks special anniversary gift

Traveling JASON DERULO made up for missing out on his one-year anniversary with girlfriend JORDIN SPARKS by sending her a romantic gift - new earrings.

The couple, which began dating last summer (11), grew especially close in January (12) when Sparks helped the Whatcha Say hitmaker recuperate from a fractured neck injury.

Derulo returned the favor one month later (Feb12) by comforting the American Idol beauty after the death of her close pal Whitney Houston, and together they were set to mark their one-year milestone on 1 August (12).

But, because Derulo was en route to Australia to shoot a new show, and Sparks was slated to perform in Los Angeles, the two were forced to celebrate on separate continents.

However, the 22 year old insists Derulo still made the day extra special, telling People magazine, "He was on his way to Australia, and I was working. But when I got to my hotel, he said, 'Check the concierge desk.' He bought me really nice earrings. They haven't come out of my ears since!"
