Grammy Awards bosses are working around the clock to add a WHITNEY HOUSTON tribute to music's big night on Sunday (12Feb12).

Jennifer Hudson, who paid tribute to her heroine during an interview on CNN show Piers Morgan Tonight on Friday (10Feb12) - the eve of the singer's death, is expected to front the tribute.

The Oscar-winning Dreamgirls star has been a lifelong fan of Houston's and has often stated that receiving a Grammy Award from her idol in 2009 was a career highlight.

Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich tells CNN, "I've asked Jennifer Hudson to come and we're really, at this moment, talking about what she's gonna do.

"It will be something respectful. It's not gonna be a full-blown tribute; to me that seems like it's too early, it's too fresh... (It will be) appropriate to Whitney's memory."

And Ehrlich reveals there are some subtle changes to the overall prizegiving to make sure that "the tone is right".

Grammy's president MC Lyte adds that "appropriate moves" will be made to include Houston tributes during the ceremony.

Houston died on Saturday afternoon (11Feb12) at the Beverly Hilton hotel, where she was preparing for mentor Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammys party.

Meanwhile, late R&B star Etta James is also set for a major tribute at the Grammys - Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt will team up to honor the At Last singer onstage.
