Singer DEMI LOVATO rang in Christmas Day with a tribute to the 20 children who lost their lives in the Newtown, Connecticut school massacre.

Lovato recorded Angels Among Us and offered it as a video to fans on Monday (24Dec12), 10 days after suspected gunman Adam Lanza opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School, killing a total of 26 people, before allegedly turning the weapon on himself.

In the heartfelt promo, The X Factor judge/mentor performs with a guitar player and pianist in a candle-lit studio.

The video opens with the message: "We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, Conn., are experiencing right now, and while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time. This song is in honor of those angels we lost on Dec. 14."
