DANIEL DAY-LEWIS is taking an extended break from movies following his historic Oscar win on Sunday (24Feb13).
The British-born star made Academy Awards history by becoming the first man to win the Best Actor trophy three times, scooping gold for his portrayal of President Abraham Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln.
However, Day-Lewis now admits he has no plans to step in front of the camera again in the near future.
Speaking backstage at the Academy Awards, he says, "I can't think of anyone right now (I would like to play) because I need to have to lie down for a couple of years... It's really hard to imagine doing anything after this."
Day-Lewis previously landed Oscars for My Left Foot in 1989 and again in 2007 for There Will Be Blood.
