"Dancing with the Stars" alum Julianne Hough is apologizing after showing up to a Halloween party in blackface.
Hough appeared at the Beverly Hills event Friday in dark makeup and a prison jumpsuit dressed as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren from the hit Netflix series "Orange is the New Black."
According to ABC News, once photos of the star started circulating, backlash to her questionable choice of makeup quickly ensued.
Hough immediately took to her Twitter account to apologize to all she offended.
The actress said , “I am a huge fan of the show ‘Orange is the New Black,’ actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created,” Hough wrote.
”It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize.”
Uzo Aduba’s rep declined to comment on the costume controversy.
