Coachella festival bosses have dropped another major hint that the ROLLING STONES will be headlining the event this year (13) by posting a cryptic photo on their official Facebook.com page.
Just three weeks after a Coachella date briefly appeared on the band's mobile application, festival promoters have uploaded a photo of a large boulder at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California where the annual music event is held.
If the rumors are true, Coachella will mark the Stones' first festival date in the United States since the ill-fated Altamont free festival in California in 1969.
The full line-up for the festival, which will be held over two weekends in April (13), will be announced later this month (Jan13).
Meanwhile, Mick Jagger and bandmate Keith Richards have hinted about a return to the stage in 2013 following a handful of 50th anniversary shows in November and December (12) in a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
Jagger says he's keen to "see what's on the table and discuss it with everyone," adding, "I just get the feeling - they're itching at the bit now. This thing wasn't enough."
And guitarist Richards states, "(The 2012 shows) went like a dream, at the same speed, man. But we barely got off the starting blocks. It would be dopey to bring things up to this level and say, 'Well, that's that, 50 years, bye-bye.'"
