Newswoman BARBARA WALTERS is ready to return to TV after bouncing back from her recent health scare.

The 83-year-old journalist was hospitalized after falling and hitting her head while in Washington, D.C. to cover President Barack Obama's inauguration last month (Jan13).

She was then diagnosed with chicken pox, and has spent the subsequent weeks recovering at her home in New York.

Now Walters has announced she will be back in her seat on daily chat show The View next week (04Mar13).

During an on-air call with her The View co-anchors on Tuesday (26Feb14), she said, "Like it or not, I'm coming back to the show again. No more chicken pox... I haven't been contagious for a while, but they wanted me to have rest, and I've had enough rest and I'm ready to come back."
