CLEVELAND - More than 200 people packed Windows on the River Friday for Community Shares’ annual "Power Lunch."
Community Shares is celebrating 25 years by honoring individuals and organizations vital to social justice transformation in Cleveland.
NewChannel5's Debora Lee, along with Mary Jane Chichester of the Women's Center of Greater Cleveland, accepted a special award called "The Power of Participation Award."
This award recognizes the outstanding collaboration used to illuminate the role addiction plays in women's lives and how it leads to further victimization.
Other award winners include The Very Reverend Tracey Lind, Dean of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hard Hatted Women, Mhari Saito from WCPN, Maria Miranda of Junior Achievement and Laurel Pilch, honored as Community Shares volunteer of the year.
