CLEVELAND - Step inside the Cleveland Botanical Garden in University Circle and prepare for a fragrant assault on your senses.
Orchid Mania: This Side of Paradise is an extravagant assemblage of thousands of orchids in their endless variety. This year's theme is all about the 1920s, a time of "sophisticated ladies, speakeasies and Busby Berkeley musicals."
Art deco accents set off the creative and luxurious display of blooms throughout, leading into the Costa Rica Glasshouse, a ticket to a tropical paradise without the hassles.
Orchid Mania continues through March 25. And if seeing the show inspires you to try your own hand at growing orchids, take advantage of the vendor sale on March 3 and 4.
Hours for the show are: Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Adult admission is $9.50, children ages 3 to 12, $3. Members and children under 3 get in for no charge.
While there, check out the beautiful gift shop for unusual garden related items, jewelry and a fine selection of live orchids.
