PAINESVILLE, Ohio - It's the biggest block party in Lake County. The Taste of Painesville celebrates the end of the summer.
The annual event will be held Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the heart of Painesville's historic downtown commercial district. Thousands of people attend every year.
Numerous local chefs and restaurants will be on hand serving up a variety of their signature dishes. This includes Kickin' Quesadilla's, Lip Smacking Wings, Fabulous Panini Sandwiches and Pap's Kettle Korn.
Your Vine Or Mine, a winery in Painesville, will also be offering wine tastings and PCIC Bar will have a selection of beers and Smirnoff products.
There are activities for all ages. Kids can get their face painted or play with sidewalk chalk. Adults can enter the cornhole tournament and win some cash prizes.
New this year, families can also sign up for the ice cream relay. Participants will start with ice cream, add toppings at four different stations, and the first team to finish and eat it all up wins.
Everyone can enjoy the music of Andy's Last Band. The Cleveland group plays at venues throughout Lake and Geauga County.
The Taste of Painesville is collaboration between the city of Painesville and local restaurants to raise funds to support downtown beautification projects.
This year's funds will raise money for the City of Painesville Main Street Program through the Downtown Painesville Organization, a non-profit group.
