AKRON, Ohio - Bike and Brew. The name of the event evokes some interesting images, but both the bike and the brew are optional.
The event this Saturday is a fundraiser by the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition in its efforts to develop the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Tuscarawas County.
The Oktoberfest at Zoar Village School House begins at 5 p.m.; however, cyclists are invited to meet at Fort Laurens in Bolivar. Cyclists will ride the Towpath to the Zoar Trailhead and take an optional road route to see the future location of the Towpath trail through Bolivar to Stark County.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 on Saturday and $5 for children 5 to 16. Each ticket purchased gives to buyer a chance to win a 21-speed Raleigh from Bert’s Bike Shop in Bolivar.
