CLEVELAND - The makeover continues at NewsChannel5. Our studio renovation had a big week. All of the electrical cables and wires that run the lights have been pulled out and recycled and the new ones installed.
Our crews have been very busy hanging pipes from the roof joists to hold the new grid system. The grid system is two inch black pipe that runs north/south and east/west every four feet.
On this new grid, the lighting strips and lights will be hung up. These will hold the lights and electrical fixtures so the lights don't move.
It's pretty wild to see all the wires and cable that run through a television station. There must be miles and miles of cable. I can barely keep track of my extension cord at home, I can't imagine trying to figure out all this wiring. We'll leave that to the pros.
