CLEVELAND -- With the IRS sending out tens of millions of rebate stimulus checks, it was likely that there would be a few goofs. The IRS said it made a few mistakes, according to NewsChannel5's Consumer Reporter John Matarese. Matarese said 350,000 taxpayers were shortchanged $300 because the IRS failed to include their child's rebate. Another 15,000 rebate checks went into the wrong bank accounts. If you suspect that you received more rebate than you deserved, don't cash the check or spend the money. Matarese said the IRS will want it back.
