Seat Solution Put To Test
Is Product Worth The Money?
In the world of baseball, the hits and slides keep your attention, but the bleachers can be tough on your backside. John Drennen and Jared Goedart play for the Akron Aeros. So NewsChannel5's consumer reporter Joy Benedict asked for their assistance in testing out the "As Seen On TV" product called the Seat Solution. They tried it out and agreed it takes pressure off your tailbone. But the "As Seen On TV" product is touted as an orthopedic seat cushion, claiming it relieves backache and fatigue because of its angled design. It even said it promotes perfect posture. The baseball players weren't so sure about that claim. NewsChannel 5 asked chiropractor George Berki his thoughts. The guide shows the Seat Solution changing the curve of your spine. He said, "I don't see the cushion changing the angle of her spine at all." But Berki did find a couple bonuses in the design. "I think the angle does help put your hips higher than your knees, which is better for you." And the cutaway portion can help if you have pain in your tailbone too. While it may not be a true medical benefit, for $15 it could make watching games a little comfortable. The Web site also suggested using it at work, at home or in the car.
