ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Plenty of us are busy working out at the gym, trying to get our bodies in shape for summer. That means a lot of hard work and toning exercises. Fitness instructor Rungsinee Phoudad from Fitworks in Rocky River agreed to test an "As Seen on TV" product called Push Up Pro. It claims it will tone and strengthen your upper body, back, shoulders and chest. The Push Up Pro has rotating push up grips. The packaging claims to work more muscles and reduce the strain on your joints. Phoudad tried it out for us and said the grip was comfortable and felt the intensity immediately for a great start to her workout. But she struggled to rotate her wrists out and in with every try.The push-up professional said, "You really need to be paying attention here otherwise it increases the risk of injury." Some trainers mentioned the rotating disks that go a complete 360 degrees makes them nervous. If you over rotate you can really hurt your wrist. Even though the instructional guide shows different exercises from novice to pro, Phoudad suggested beginners should back off. "Multiple joints are moving at the same time and it's not as stable," she said. There is no quick fix for a perfect body, but you want to be careful. Before you shell out $20, you may want to try push-ups the old fashioned way.
