AKRON, Ohio -- Akron police said shortly after 11 Thursday night, a resident of 2nd Street SW reported being a victim of a home invasion.

The victim reported that two men armed with a handgun and a shotgun entered an unlocked front door and attempted to rob the homeowner and his visitor.

Police said the victims fought back and managed to take the guns from the robbers.

According to police, the suspects were injured during the fight with the victims. Paramedics transported the suspects to local hospitals.

Officials said that their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Kevin R. Chambers, 24, and Franklin R. Rodgers, 24, were charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary.
