Court Decides Man Not Sane When He Stabbed Mom

MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio -- A hearing in Medina County common pleas court decided Wednesday that a man who stabbed his mother to death was not sane at the time of the stabbing.The court upheld a psychological evaluation of 26-year-old Patrick Ravas, who has already pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.Police said Ravas stabbed 62-year-old Noella Ravas to death at her Hinckley home last November and then called 911 and told the operator what he had done.A suppression hearing will be held on Sept. 19.
