Police have charged a maintenance worker with aggravated murder in connection with the stabbing death of a Richfield Village hotel clerk.

The body of 59-year-old Bonnie Nevener was found at the Holiday Inn Express on Brecksville Road Friday morning. She died of multiple stab wounds, and police said they believe robbery was the motive.

Officials said suspect Dannis Lindsey, 46, notified police, telling them he found Nevener around 3:30 a.m. in the hotel's laundry room.

Police said they questioned hotel guests and employees, which led them across the street to a hotel room where Lindsey lived.

Police said they recovered the money stolen from Nevener in Lindsey's room. They also found a pair of bloody sneakers in the area near the hotel.

Lindsey will be arraigned in Akron on Monday.

Police said this was the first slaying in the city in about 15 years.
