UPDATED: 3:09 pm EDT August 21, 2008

Cleveland police are investigating a Thursday morning shooting death on the city's west side.

Police said David Slapak, 28, was shot and killed in what appears to be a drug-related robbery at a home on Bernard, near West 103rd Street.

Police said that around 5 a.m., a group of males assaulted Slapak and demanded money.

A witness inside the home ran to a neighbor's home and called police. Shortly afterward, gunshots were heard and the victim was found dead on the porch with two gunshot wounds to the chest.

Police have made no arrests.
