Teenager Dies After Falling Out Of Car

19-Year-Old Was Passenger

A teenager died Sunday after he fell out of a moving car.

The Summit County Medical Examiner said Jordan Wells, 19, of Akron, was a passenger in the vehicle traveling on Arlington Road in Springfield Township just after 6 a.m.

As the vehicle was turning onto Swartz Road, Wells fell out of the door. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Wells was leaning out the passenger front door window and when the vehicle turned, he fell from the vehicle and landed onto the street head first.

He was transported to Akron City Hospital. He died form from head trauma at 9:21 p.m.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

Driver Jeremy J. Rittwage, 19, of Akron, was not injured. He was using his seat belt.

He was charged with underage consumption of alcohol, along with possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
