There's a renewed push to make Cleveland streets safer following several recent violent and fatal crimes.

City leaders are hoping cash will help the community take action and call police with information about an unsolved crime.

Tom Ganley, president of the Ganley Autogroup and part of the Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers, joined local business owner Brian Hall Tuesday to announce more money is being added to the Crime Stoppers award.

Hall's nephew Calvin was killed last year outside Cleveland's Spy Bar, and his death is one of 45 unsolved homicides from 2007.

Hall is putting up his own money to help find the killer.

"My commitment is to raise an additional $1,000 for every unsolved murder in 2007 so that we can get those criminals off the streets so they're not committing additional crimes in 2008 and 2009," said Hall.

City leaders pointed out that the person suspected of shooting a woman on the porch of a Cleveland home last week was arrested after an anonymous tip.

Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson said the community will no longer tolerate criminals hiding in the city.

Anyone with information about an unsolved crime should call Crime Stoppers at 216-252-7463.

You could be eligible for a reward of up to $3,000 if the information leads to an arrest and conviction.
