Do you love your pet but hate the shedding hair it leaves behind?

There's a de-shedding product on the market that claims to reduce shedding by 90 percent.

In a new segment, "Does It Really Do That?" NewsChannel5's Kimberly Gill will put it to the test.

The product is called the Furminator and it has been advertised on TV, but it can also be purchased online and at some pet stores. It costs $35.

A local pet owner who rescued both of his cats from a local animal shelter helped Gill test the Furminator.

The product brushes off hair easily on Velour and Linus.

The pet owner gave the product a thumbs up. He said pet owners should be careful though not to over use the product because if you keep combing and combing you could end up with a bald cat.
