Man's Shooting Caught On Video

Business Owner In Critical Condition

A man is hospitalized in critical condition after being shot in the stomach at a gas station Friday night.

Fazliddin Yakubov was shot several times at the Certified station on East 76th Street and Superior Avenue on Cleveland's east side, and the entire incident was caught on video.

The surveillance cameras were rolling when Yakubov and his son pulled into the gas station just before midnight.

Police said after Yakubov paid for gas he got into a confrontation with a group of men.

Less than two minutes later, Yakubov stood by his car, gesturing off camera. He leaned against the vehicle and was shot several times in the stomach.

The shots can be heard from a camera inside the store, nine shots in all.

Yakubov's family owns a local restaurant, Toron's Grill.

The Turkish-style restaurant has been closed since Friday. It's less than half a mile away from where Yakubov was shot.

Police haven't made any arrests but said they have plenty of people they would like to talk to: the video shows at least a dozen people were at the station when Yakubov 's son put his father in the car and called 911.

The Cleveland chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations wants police to investigate the shooting as a hate crime.

Police said Tuesday that there is nothing at this time that indicates it is a hate crime.
