CLEVELAND -- A 41-year-old man was likely fatally beaten by several men early Sunday morning.

Police said they received a call that about 15 men were beating another man near East 117th Street.

When police arrived they found a 41-year-old Charles Gooden with severe head trauma. He was taken to Huron Hospital, where he died.

Man's Body Dumped In Trash Can

Gooden's family said after he was beaten the group of men then dumped his body in a trash can.

Gooden's mother told NewsChannel5 that she is struggling to understand how anyone could be so cruel.

Police said they have not made any arrests but they are hoping that someone will help with the investigation.

The death marks the 27th homicide of the year.
