You might not feel like putting together your holiday shopping budget, but a little planning now could save you a lot of money in time for Christmas.

Here are some things you can do now to save money for gifts:

  1. Sell the toys your kids have outgrown from last Christmas. Hold a yard sale, place them up for bid on eBay or use Craigslist. You could make enough money to cover some of this coming holiday's bills.
  2. Reevaluate your cable and phone bills. Do you really need all of those channels? Cutting back could save you $100.
  3. Eat out less. Cut back one time per month. You could save$100.
  4. Finally, if you got a tax refund this year, adjust your withholding. This will put more money in your pocket now, when you need it.
