CLEVELAND -- Do you hate dusting? If you're like most people it seems no matter how often you dust it's never enough. There's a product that claims your next dusting experience will be fast, easy and fun, but, does it really do that?Good Morning Cleveland anchor Kimberly Gill put the Go Duster to the test. The Go Duster can be found on sale at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $9.99. The commercial on TV describes it as a battery-operated duster that spins to make cleaning faster, easier and fun.Bay Village resident Cindy Gulley is always cleaning and she says she knows a lot about dust. “Our house gets very dusty. It's so old, all we have to do is kick on a fan or air conditioner or the heater and it just kicks up dust. I can dust one day and it will be back by the end of the day,” said Gulley.Gulley has tried other products, but said the refills for products like the Swiffer can be expensive. So Gulley was willing to test the Go Duster. She started with the blinds, saying, “It's hard to get in there just to get every single one and all these little strings and everything.” But Gulley said it got more of the dust than the Swiffer product she normally uses.Next she tried the computer keyboard, then plants, the mantle, the piano, and finally a light fixture. Even though the Go Duster claims to grab and hold dust like a magnet, Cindy said it does not really do that. According to Gulley, “It seems like dust is just flying around everywhere. I didn't notice it over there as much maybe because it's not up high.”So Gulley tried a few extra squirts of the spray included with the Go Duster to see if that would help trap the dust. But Gulley said she still saw dust flying around. So Gulley’s final ruling: “It does seem to get to really tight spaces easier than using the rag or the Swiffer. The disadvantage is that it just displaces the dust rather than picking it up and getting rid of it."
