Hofstra Names Dave Cohen Head Coach

POSTED: 7:12 pm EST December 12, 2005

Hofstra University has called a news conference for 10 a.m. (et) Tuesday to announce Dave Cohen as its new head football coach.

Cohen spent the past four seasons at the University of Delaware as the defensive coordinator and was a part of the 15-1 Blue Hens' NCAA I-AA national title team in 2003.

The C.W. Post graduate has also had coaching stints at Albany, Lafayette College and Fordham. He was honored as the NCAA I-AA defensive coordinator of the year by American Football Monthly in July 2004.

Cohen will replace Joe Gardi, who retired at the end of the 2005 season.
