Buffalo, NY -- (Sports Network) - Tyler Sheehan threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns and he caught a third to pace the Bowling Green Falcons in a 31-17 triumph over the Buffalo Bulls in a Mid-American Conference tussle at Buffalo Stadium. Sheehan was an efficient 20-for-29 for Bowling Green (7-4, 5-2 MAC), which won its third straight game. Freddie Barnes caught 10 passes for 113 yards and a score, while Anthony Turner ran for 97 yards and a touchdown for the Falcons. Turner also threw a touchdown pass. Drew Willy threw for 210 yards and a touchdown to lead Buffalo (4-7, 4-3), and Naaman Roosevelt caught six passes for 146 yards. James Starks ran for 137 yards on 21 carries with a score in the loss. A two-yard plunge by Turner early in the first quarter gave Bowling Green a 7-0 lead. Buffalo responded midway through the period with a 27-yard field goal by A.J. Principe. The Bulls took a 10-7 lead late in the frame on a five-yard touchdown dash by Starks. Bowling Green evened the contest early in the second quarter with a 40-yard field goal from Sinisa Vrvilo. Sheehan gave the Falcons a 17-10 lead with a 44-yard strike to Barnes midway through the period. An 83-yard strike from Sheehan to Chris Wright late in the frame pushed the Falcons further ahead, 24-10. Sheehan next caught a 25-yard toss from Turner early in the third quarter to extend the Bowling Green advantage to 31-10. The Bulls found the end zone once more, minutes later, with a 17-yard pass from Willy to Ernest Jackson. Both teams were held scoreless in the fourth quarter.
