NCAA Game Summary - Miami-Ohio Vs. Central Michigan

POSTED: 3:34 pm EST December 1, 2007

(Sports Network) - Dan LeFevour threw for 185 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 170 yards and two scores to lead the Central Michigan Chippewas to a 35-10 victory over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in the Mid-American Conference Championship Game.

LeFevour joined Vince Young as the only players in NCAA history to throw for 3,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in a season. He is also the first quarterback in MAC history to lead his team to a conference title as a freshman and a sophomore.

Ontario Sneed ran for 67 yards and two touchdowns for Central Michigan (8-5), which captured the MAC title for the second straight year and will play in the Motor City Bowl at Ford Field on December 26th. The Chippewas last won two straight MAC championships in 1979-1980.

Daniel Raudabaugh threw for 254 yards and one touchdown in defeat for Miami- Ohio (6-7), but he was intercepted twice.

Late in the first quarter, Central Michigan took a 7-0 lead on a three-yard touchdown pass from LeFevour to Kito Poblah. Surprisingly, that was the only score for either team in the first half.

Midway through the third quarter, Miami cut its deficit to 7-3 on a 38-yard field by Nathan Parseghian.

On the ensuing possession, LeFevour stretched the Central Michigan advantage to 14-3 with a 21-yard touchdown run.

Early in the fourth quarter, Sneed made the score 21-3 with a one-yard touchdown plunge.

The RedHawks' only touchdown of the day came with just over nine minutes remaining in the contest, as Armand Robinson hauled in a 12-yard scoring strike from Raudabaugh.

The Chippewas shut the door on defense from that point on and added a pair of touchdown runs to seal the victory, a seven-yard score from Sneed and a 28-yard scamper from LeFevour.

Central Michigan finished with 267 rushing yards and limited Miami to 52 yards on the ground.
