NCAA Game Summary - Kent State At Eastern Michigan

Ypsilanti, MI -- (Sports Network) - Spencer Keith threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Kent State downed Eastern Michigan, 28-6, in a Mid-American Conference meeting at Rynearson Stadium. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Golden Flashes (3-4, 2-1 MAC) who won for the first time on the road this season in three tries. Keith was 10-of-24 through the air for 162 yards with two interceptions. Jacquise Terry ran for 79 yards on 18 carries. Alex Gillett ran for 75 yards for the Eagles (0-6, 0-3). DeAnthony White added 73 rushing yards for Eastern Michigan. Gillett and Kyle McMahon also combined to convert 10-of-19 passing for 75 yards. Kent State got on the scoreboard just 3:24 into the game when Keith hit Jonathan Simpson with a one-yard scoring pass. The 38-yard drive was set up by an Eagles fumble. Joe Carithers opened the scoring for EMU with a 30-yard field goal with 8:28 left in the first period. KSU responded moments later when Keith found Tyshon Goode with a 48-yard touchdown pass on the next play from scrimmage to make it 14-3 with 8:09 left in the opening quarter. Carithers added a 25-yard field goal with 3:31 remaining in the period to make it 14-6. Keith extended the Kent State lead when he scored from a yard out with 5:45 left in the third quarter. Leneric Muldrow hooked up with Kendrick Pressley on a 31-yard touchdown throw with 8:40 left in the game to complete the scoring. With the setback Eastern Michigan, which generated just 258 yards of total offense, is now only 6-20 against MAC opponents dating back to the start of the 2006 season.
