Indiana's Hardy To Enter NFL Draft

POSTED: 4:05 pm EST January 4, 2008

(Sports Network) - Indiana wide receiver James Hardy will forego his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

The 6-foot-7 Hardy had 79 catches for 1,125 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2007, helping the Hoosiers (7-6) to their first bowl appearance in 14 years, a 49-33 loss to Oklahoma State in the Insight Bowl.

"After carefully examining my football career here at Indiana University, and consulting with my family, I have concluded that I have reached the pinnacle of my college football career," Hardy said in a statement.

Hardy finished his IU career with 191 receptions for 2,740 yards and 36 touchdowns, all school records.

"We appreciate everything James has contributed to Indiana University," coach Bill Lynch said. "It has been amazing watching him grow not only as a football player, but also as a man."
