Kalamazoo, MI -- (Sports Network) - Dan LeFevour threw for 238 yards and accounted for three touchdowns, as the Central Michigan Chippewas topped the Western Michigan Broncos, 34-23, in a Mid-American Conference clash at Waldo Stadium.

LeFevour completed 18-of-30 passes, including two touchdowns, and he also ran for 76 yards and a score. Antonio Brown had 100 yards rushing on only eight carries, while Bryan Anderson had seven catches for 133 yards to help the Chippewas (6-1, 4-0 MAC) remain unbeaten in league play.

WMU (3-4, 2-2) quarterback Tim Hiller set school records for career touchdowns and completions in the loss. He completed 40-of-66 passes for 410 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Robert Arnheim was on the receiving end of nine of those passes and finished with 112 receiving yards. Despite a busy day in the passing game, running back Brandon West carried 21 times for 96 yards.

CMU kicker Andrew Aguila got the Chippewas on the board first with a 37-yard field goal at the 11:36 mark of the opening quarter.

Broncos kicker John Potter returned the favor midway through the first quarter with a 38-yarder to knot the score at 3-3.

The Chippewas reclaimed the lead on a two-yard touchdown run by LeFevour in the final minute of the first quarter.

Aguila pushed CMU's lead to 13-3 with a 40-yard field goal at the 11:30 mark of the second quarter.

WMU answered with a 13-play, 54-yard drive, but had to settle for three points on a 33-yard field goal by Potter.

The Broncos tied the score at 13-13 with 2:33 remaining in the half, when Hiller found Juan Nunez for an 18-yard touchdown pass.

CMU got the ball back and put together a quick drive, with LeFevour finding Bryan Schroeder for a 15-yard scoring strike to put the Chippewas back on top.

The Chippewas defense came up with an interception that set the ball up on the WMU 3 with 18 seconds remaining until halftime. Two plays later, Schroeder tacked on a two-yard touchdown run.

Potter's 27-yard field goal represented the only points of the third quarter, as the Broncos entered the final frame trailing, 27-16.

The Chippewas padded their lead with a nine-yard scoring strike from LeFevour to Antonio Brown with just under 12 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

WMU cut the deficit to 34-23 on a five-yard touchdown pass from Hiller to Trey Smith at the five-minute mark, but the Broncos weren't able to draw any closer.

The Chippewas managed to win despite converting only 1-of-9 third downs and being out-gained in total offense, 497-426.
