NCAA Game Summary - Toledo At Bowling Green

POSTED: 6:44 pm EST November 23, 2007

(Sports Network) - Tyler Sheehan threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bowling Green Falcons to a 37-10 win over the Toledo Rockets in Mid-American Conference action at Perry Stadium.

Sheehan converted 20-of-34 pass attempts for the Falcons (8-4, 6-2 MAC), while Anthony Turner picked up a game-high 96 yards and a score on the ground as the team won its fourth in a row to close out the regular season.

The Rockets (5-7, 3-5) were led by Clint Cochran who converted 15-of-29 for 202 yards and a score, but he was also intercepted and sacked three times each in the team's second straight loss.

The contest got off to a slow start, with BGSU logging a safety for the first points of the afternoon midway through the first quarter. The Falcons then extended the lead to 9-0 when Turner threw his only pass of the game and completed it to Freddie Barnes for an 11-yard score.

Toledo kicker Alex Steigerwald put the Rockets on the board with a 21-yard field goal at the 10:30 mark of the second quarter, but prior to the end of the first half the Falcons scored yet again on a four-yard pass from Sheehan to Jermiah Kelley to make the score 16-3 at the break.

In the third Toledo needed just over a minute to cover 46 yards, with Cochran hitting Nick Moore with a 37-yard TD pass to draw the Rockets to within six points.

But from there the game belonged to Bowling Green as Sheehan tossed touchdown passes of 52 and 17 yards to Kelley and Chris Wright, respectively, while Turner slipped into the end zone from 20 yards out in the fourth to provide BGSU with the 27-point win.

The Falcons, who controlled the ball for all but 57 second in the first quarter, converted 8-of-16 on third down and registered 443 yards of total offense on the day.
