(Sports Network) - Chip Bowden gained 50 yards on 16 carries and threw a touchdown pass to lead the Army Black Knights to a hard fought 14-7 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a non-conference battle at Michie Stadium.

Collin Mooney added 57 yards on the ground to help pace Army (3-5) in the victory.

Daniel Porter tallied a game-high 73 rushing yards to lead Louisiana Tech (3-4) in the losing effort, while signal caller Ross Jenkins completed 8-of-19 for just 84 yards and no touchdowns.

A one-yard run from Ian Smith put Army ahead 7-0 late in the opening quarter.

The Bulldogs managed to tie the contest midway through the third period with a two-yard plunge from R. P. Stuart.

But the Black Knights responded with a two-yard strike from Bowden to Ian Smith late in the final period of play, putting Army ahead for good, and securing the 14-7 victory.
