Oxford, OH -- (Sports Network) - Craig Mester returned a fumble seven yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to lift the Miami-Ohio Redhawks to a 7-0 victory over the Akron Zips and claim the East Division title in the Mid- American Conference. Daniel Raudabaugh threw for 189 yards and three interceptions for Miami-Ohio (6-5, 5-1 MAC), which became bowl eligible with the victory. Jabari Arthur caught six passes for 73 yards in defeat for Akron (4-7, 3-4). Arthur now owns the program's single-season record for receptions with 78, and he has gained 1,060 receiving yards. While Akron committed eight penalties in the clash, Miami-Ohio was only guilty of one penalty. The Redhawks overcame a total of four turnovers to earn the victory. Miami-Ohio holds a 13-5-1 series lead over Akron and has won six of the last seven meetings between the teams.
