UCLA's Gordon Suffers Knee Injury

POSTED: 7:08 pm EDT June 17, 2009

(Sports Network) - UCLA forward Drew Gordon suffered a partially torn patellar tendon in his right knee on Tuesday.

The injury occurred at the 2009 USA Basketball U19 World Championship team trials in Colorado Springs. The length of time Gordon will miss is not yet known.

"It is an unfortunate event, but Drew is a resilient kid and he'll get through it," UCLA head coach Ben Howland said. "We have a good athletic training staff and we will be here to support him."

In his first year with the Bruins last season, Gordon averaged nearly 11 minutes per game, logging 3.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest.
