Ogden, UT -- (Sports Network) - Divaldo Mbunga registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Montana State Bobcats upset the Weber State Wildcats, 70-61, in the semifinals of the Big Sky Conference Tournament at the Dee Events Center. Also scoring in double figures for the sixth-seeded Bobcats (14-16) were Branden Johnson and Erik Rush with 16 and 11 points, respectively, in the decision. The top-seeded Wildcats (21-9) were paced by Kellen McCoy with 16 points, followed by Trevor Morris with 15 points and eight boards off the bench in the setback. WSU shot a mere 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, including just 2-of-13 behind the three-point line, yet trailed by just three at the break, 32-29. In the second half the Wildcats again made only 2-of-13 out on the perimeter, allowing Montana State to capture the nine-point win. The Bobcats managed to come up with the victory despite 16 turnovers and 18- of-30 shooting at the free-throw line. Montana State, which was the only Big Sky program to defeat Weber State during the regular season, will not contend with Portland State in the title game tomorrow night with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament hanging in the balance.
