NCAA Game Summary - Wichita State Vs. Michigan State

(Sports Network) - Marquise Gray had 12 points and eight rebounds, as the fifth-ranked Michigan State Spartans edged the Wichita State Shockers, 65-57, in a final round matchup of the Old Spice Classic.

Durrell Summers had 11 points and six rebounds, while Kalin Lucas added 10 points and five assists for the Spartans (4-1), who have won their last two after falling to Maryland on Thanksgiving. The team captured fifth place in this tournament.

Clevin Hannah had a game-high 19 points and was the only player in double-figures for the Shockers (3-3), who had defeated Siena on Friday.

Trailing by two points early in the second half, Michigan State ripped off a 7-0 run and held a 35-31 lead on a layup from Raymar Morgan.

A three-pointer from Chris Allen near the midway mark of the second half gave the Spartans a 44-37 lead.

Ramon Clemente's jumper with a bit over five minutes to play got the Shockers to within 52-47, but Lucas put in a layup on the following possession and turned it into a three-point play, and the Spartans held Wichita State at bay for the remainder of the game.

Wichita State held a seven-point lead, 23-16, with around three minutes to play in the first half thanks to a 10-2 run.

The Spartans got the final four points of the first half, and Gray's jumper in the final minute cut the deficit to 26-22 heading into the locker room.

The game was delayed 45 minutes by rain from a leaking vent that caused puddles to form on the floor with just under 13 minutes left in the first half...Michigan State shot 44 percent in the game...Wichita State made 38 percent of its shots...The Spartans dominated the glass, 40-20...Michigan State leads the all-time series, 5-3.
