NCAA Game Summary - Arkansas-Monticello Vs. Massachusetts

(Sports Network) - Ricky Harris scored 22 points to lead the Massachusetts Minutemen to a 90-71 victory over the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils in opening round action of the 2K Sports Classic Benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.

Chris Lowe racked up 18 points and 11 assists for UMass (1-0), which moves on to the second round against Southern Illinois on Wednesday. Tony Gaffney tallied 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Minutemen, who got 14 points from Anthony Gurley.

Raymond Wright had 25 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Arkansas- Monticello (0-1), and Deron Brown added 11 points.

UMass led 46-37 at intermission after limiting Arkansas-Monticello to 37.5 percent shooting from the floor in the first half.

A 6-of-11 effort from three-point range in the second half enabled the Minutemen to seal the victory.

UMass finished with 20 assists against 13 turnovers, while Arkansas-Monticello posted only 12 assists against 16 turnovers.
