The Eagles were in action just last night, when they suffered a 73-61 setback against St. John's, the host of this loser's bracket regional. It was EMU's fourth loss in a row following a 119-48 triumph over Marygrove to open the season. The team will conclude its five-game road swing against Brown on Saturday. As for Cornell, it played Loyola-Chicago in this same arena last night and emerged with a 78-53 victory. It was the second win in the past three games for the Big Red, which improved to 3-2 overall. In terms of the all-time series, EMU has a 2-1 lead over Cornell, but the teams haven't met since 1978.

The Eagles made just 37.9 percent of their total shots and only 5-of-18 from three-point distance, as they were defeated by St. John's on Monday. The team was also completely dominated the boards, 50-28, including a 17-9 difference on the offensive end. Justin Dobbins and Brandon Bowdry each tallied 13 points in the loss, while Branden Harrison and L.J. Frazier posted 12 and 11 points, respectively. Through the first five games, Bowdry heads EMU in scoring (15.2 ppg) as well as rebounding (8.0 rpg). Dobbins contributes 13.6 ppg and 5.2 rpg for the Eagles, who are scoring 69.0 ppg as a whole.

The Big Red shot a sizzling 60.0 percent from the field, including a 9-of-14 effort from downtown, as it cruised past Loyola on Monday. Geoff Reeves led four double-figure scorers with 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 from three-point range. Ryan Wittman added 15 points and five boards, while Chris Wroblewski posted 13 points. Jeff Foote rounded out the group with a double-double that consisted of 10 points and the same amount of rebounds. On the season, Wittman tops the roster in scoring at 20.0 ppg and Reeves is next with 16.0 ppg. Foote has been a force down low and is putting forth 13.8 ppg and a team-best 7.8 rpg.
