NCAA Game Summary - Dayton At Illinois State

(Sports Network) - Brian Roberts scored 16 points to lead the third-seeded Dayton Flyers to a 55-48 win over the second-seeded Illinois State Redbirds in second round action of the NIT at Redbird Arena.

Chris Wright added nine points off the bench for the Flyers (23-10), who will face off against Ohio State in the quarterfinals of the tournament on March 26.

Dinma Odiakosa led the way for the Redbirds (25-10), scoring 14 points on 7- of-9 shooting from the floor. Osiris Eldridge added 10 points for ISU, while Anthony Slack tallied seven points and 14 rebounds in the loss.

Both teams shot the ball well in the first half, as they traded baskets until finally entering the break tied at 28-28.

Dayton took control of the game in the second stanza, shooting 43.8 percent from the floor, en route to the seven-point victory.

Foul shooting proved to be the difference in the contest, as Dayton outscored the Redbirds 16-3 at the charity stripe.
