NCAA Game Summary - Central Michigan At Illinois-Chicago

(Sports Network) - Josh Mayo scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Illinois-Chicago Flames to a 77-67 victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a non-conference battle at the UIC Pavilion.

Scott VanderMeer added 17 points and nine boards for UIC (3-2), while Tori Boyd also contributed 17 points off the bench.

Robbie Harman netted 17 points and dished out six assists for CMU (2-3), while Chris Kellermann tallied 13 points in the loss. Jeremy Allen and Adrian Hunter both contributed 12 points for CMU.

The Chippewas only shot 40.0 percent from the floor in the first half, but were able to escape into the break with a 35-33 lead.

However, the Flames heated up in the second stanza, shooting a stellar 58.3 percent from the field, en route to the 10-point win.

UIC made 23-of-34 attempts from the foul line, while Central Michigan connected on just 11-of-20 shots from the charity stripe.
