NCAA Game Summary - Charlotte Vs. Cal State Fullerton

(Sports Network) - Josh Akognon poured in 26 points to lead the Cal State Fullerton Titans to a 92-84 overtime victory over the Charlotte 49ers as part of the 76 Classic at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Marcio Lassiter added 13 points for Cal State Fullerton (3-4), which got 12 points from Chris Rhymes. Both Gerard Anderson and Aaron Thompson scored 11 points for the Titans.

DiJuan Harris and Ian Andersen scored 15 points apiece in the disappointing setback for Charlotte (1-6). An'Juan Wilderness pitched in 13 points for the 49ers.

Cal State Fullerton shot a staggering 64 percent from the floor in the first half, including 7-of-11 from three-point range, and led 43-34 at intermission.

Both teams shot under 35 percent from the field in the second half, but the 49ers hit five three-pointers in the stanza and knocked down 12 free throws to force overtime.

The Titans dominated the extra session, hitting all 10 of their foul shots and 4-of-6 field goal attempts.

A 48-35 rebounding advantage helped Cal State Fullerton overcome 26 turnovers.
