NCAA Game Summary - UC Santa Barbara At Illinois State

(Sports Network) - Osiris Eldridge and Champ Oguchi tallied 18 points apiece to pace the Illinois State Redbirds in an 87-59 triumph over the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the championship game of the World Vision Invitational.

Dinma Odiakosa and Brandon Sampay both pitched in 11 points for Illinois State (7-0), which is off to its best start since the 1977-78 campaign.

Jesse Byrd netted 17 points in the setback for UC Santa Barbara (3-4).

Illinois State connected on 65.4 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half, including 6-of-12 from three-point range, and owned a commanding 42-26 lead at intermission.

An 8-of-16 effort from behind the arc in the second half enabled the Redbirds to cruise to victory.

Both teams shot 3-of-6 from the foul line and turned the ball over 11 times.
