GAME NOTES: The Temple Owls hit the road today, and find themselves at the University of Buffalo for the first time in 30 years for a non-conference tussle with the Bulls at Alumni Arena. The Owls are 3-1 thus far, marking the program's best start since the 2000-01 squad won its first four games. The Owls' most recent success on the hardwood was a 71-55 victory over Lafayette last Friday. As for Buffalo, it has dropped back-to-back decisions, with the most recent being a 65-61 final against Niagara last Tuesday. The Bulls now stand an even 2-2 on the young season. Today's bout marks the fifth meeting all-time between the two programs, and Temple owns a 3-1 advantage.

Dionte Christmas posted a game-high 29 points to go with a career-high 12 rebounds to lead the Owls over Lafayette last Friday. The Owls shot just 41.4 percent from the floor and 5-of-23 from beyond the arc in the win. Temple did, however, hold the Leopards to 35.8 percent from the field while winning the battle on the boards, 47-37. Semaj Inge scored 11 points to go with eight rebounds, while Ryan Brooks chipped in 10 points for the Owls. Christmas, an All-America candidate, leads TU as well as the Atlantic 10 Conference in scoring with 23.8 ppg. Christmas also owns an 8.8 rpg average as well, good for second on the team. Brooks checks in with 13.8 ppg, while Lavoy Allen has been responsible for a solid 11.0 points and 9.0 caroms per contest.

The Bulls held Niagara to a mere 33.9 percent shooting from the floor in Tuesday's four-point win, including 5-of-17 from three-point range. The Bulls managed a less-than-impressive 35 percent effort from the field themselves, but did force 17 turnovers and beat the Purple Eagles on the glass, 51-38. Buffalo averages just 62.2 ppg so far this year, and is shooting a lackluster 38.7 percent from the floor. Rodney Pierce leads the Bulls in scoring with his 18.3 ppg, while Greg Gamble also owns a double-digit average with 13.8 ppg. He heads the team's rebounding effort with 7.0 rpg.

Temple has been solid thus far, and should have little trouble getting past an inconsistent Buffalo squad, even on the road.

Predicted Outcome

Temple 77, Buffalo 62
