Milwaukee, WI -- (Sports Network) - Jarrod Jones scored 18 points to lead the Ball State Cardinals to an 82-69 win over the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers in a non-conference battle at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Brandon Lampley also added 15 points for the Cardinals (3-1), while Anthony Newell tallied 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Laron Frazier also chipped in with 12 points.

The Panthers (3-3) were paced by Anthony Hill, who scored 17 points in a losing effort. Ricky Franklin and Avery Smith also got involved, adding 15 and 12 points, respectively.

BSU got off to a fast start, shooting 15-of-29 from the floor in the first half to take a 33-28 lead at the break.

The Cardinals pulled away in the second stanza, knocking down 16-of-19 free- throws, en route to a 13-point victory.

BSU pounded the Panthers in the post, outscoring UW-Milwaukee 42-24 in the paint.
