Teaneck, NJ -- (Sports Network) - Mike Rose poured in a game-high 20 points and ripped down eight boards, as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels outlasted the Akron Zips, 69-57, as part of the Legends Classic. Dayvon Ellis also got into the mix for EKU (4-2), netting 11 points and dishing out five assists. Brett McKnight led the way for Akron (3-2) with 16 points, while Anthony Hitchens had 10 points and three steals. In the first half, the Colonels shot 56.0 percent from the floor and carried a 32-25 advantage to the locker room. EKU scored 15 unanswered points late in the second half, as it pulled away for the 12-point win. The Colonels won the battle on the glass, 32-22, and also held a 12-3 advantage in free-throw points.
