The History Of Buckle Down Cleveland
Cuyahoga County has historically had one of the worst seat belt usage rates in the state of Ohio. In 1998, Cuyahoga ranked second among the state's 88 counties in crash rates, but a dismal 80th in seat belt use. The Buckle Down Cleveland campaign was designed to increase seat belt and car seat use and decrease motor vehicle-related deaths and injuries among the 1.8 million residents of Cuyahoga County. KarrieBuckle Down Cleveland is proud to partner with the Greater Cleveland Safe Kids Coalition, part of the National Safe Kids Coalition, to offer free Car Seat Fit Stops to area families who travel with children in car seats and booster seats. Families can learn about the proper use and installation of child car seats and safety belts.
